Hong Kong's wen wei Po newspaper reported that plastic waste is once again reaching out to Marine life. A young male whale has died after becoming stranded in the Philippines. The whale was found to have up to 40 kilograms of plastic bags in its stomach.

The whale, which was 15.4 feet long, was found stranded on the beach in the town of mabini in the compostela valley province of the Philippines at about 6 am local time. During this period, the whale had vomited blood and had brown secretions.

The team of Marine biologists who carried out the autopsy said about 40 kilograms of plastic bags were found in the whale's stomach. They included 16 rice bags, large bags used in banana plantations and multiple shopping bags, all of different sizes and shapes.

According to Mr. Bletchley, who has a wildlife bone collection in davao, the Philippines, the museum examined the carcasses of 57 whales and 61 dolphins over the past 10 years, of which 57 were killed by the accumulation of garbage and plastic in their stomachs.
